EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
 
The Executive Committee consists of Chapter President Sharon Dodson,1st Vice-President Crystal Lewis, 
2nd Vice- President Monica Murray, Secretary Karen Yates, Correspondence Secretary, Diane Gilliam, 
Treasurer Roshelle King, Assistant Treasurer Brenda Mitchell, Region XI President/Chapter Representative Marion Allen,
Chapter Representative Cozette Talib, Communications & Public Relations Chair Michael Howard and Past Chapter President, Darren Powell. This committee is responsible for leading and overseeing the development and execution of the Blacks In Government Organization's Washington DC/College Park Complex regional chapter activities and events. This committee is responsible upholding the organization's Purpose, Vision, mission and values in conjunction with external chapters in order to ensure unity and alignment with BIG's national chapter long-term goals and strategies.
 
BUDGET AND FINANCE COMMITTEE

 

The Budget and Finance Committee is lead by Chapter Treasurer Rochelle King. This committee is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, tracking and reporting the chapter's budgetary and financial information.

 

PROGRAMS AND PLANNING COMMITTEE

 

The Programs and Planning Committee is lead by the Chapter 1st Vice-President Crystal Lewis. This committee is responsible for coordinating and planning chapter initiatives, outreach efforts, programs, activities and events.

 
COMMUNICATIONS AND PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE

 

The Communications & Public Relations Committee is lead by the Chair Michael Howard and Co-Chair Sharon Brooks. This committee is responsible for overseeing communications through the chapter's website and social media sites, keeping public informed about chapter goals, initiatives, policies, programs, activities and events.

 
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

 

The Membership committee is lead by Chapter 2nd Vice-President & Membership Chair Monica Murray. This committee is responsible for the marketing and recruitment of new and interested members into the chapter.

 

EDUCATION AND SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE

 

The Education and Scholarship Committee Chair is lead by Chapter Assistant-Treasurer Brenda Mitchell. This committee is responsible for the fundraising, advertisement and selection of qualified student applicants for the BIG scholarship award. This committee is dedicated to the support and enrichment of students through higher education. This committee provides students in need of financial support after high school graduation with financial resources required for tuition payment.

This committee is also responsible for the collection of scholarship donations marketing and recruitment of new and interested members into the chapter.
